Family Portraits

Family Portraits

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Families are Important.
I like to cover family portraits the way I do all my shoots...

Naturally.

Seeing the children interact with each other
and with their parents
is what will tell the story of who they are
and were
for years to come.

Parents,
children,
and later, children of children
love to go back and see
that moment in time
caught and suspended forever.

The following two photos, along with the one above,
are from a shoot we did in the park in Port Moody.
This little boy was the happiest
in this moment...
totally loved
with a ton of attention
showered on just him for the day...

The following two photos were part of a series for a family we did in studio.

You can see the larger group is caught as they are, a piece of history.
It states to all who see it -
"This is who we are right now."

The smaller group is more intimate
and has a sense of fun,
much like the family themselves.
It's more dynamic, because there are fewer people.

When doing a large family portrait, it's always nice to have smaller groupings as well,
to really show off the personalities of each family unit.
